Maybe my happy relations with Tripod is going to take a turn for the worse.I tried to add a reply set to The Staks but Tripods editor is not letting me get to it from inside.

Clicking the blog folder icon just gives me the 'blog' itself.Previously to this the blog editor had to have the slect box checked to open.Clicking on the folder icon gave me the files under/in the blog directory itself,,not the blog opened in editable form.

I opened a trouble ticket with them,,their auto responder said they will get back to me in 5-7 days.

Whoo!Hoo!Don't you just love how the internet speeds up customer relations?

Anyway,,since I was on the verge of going to a paid account,(I have over 2000 pg views showing),maybe this will be a fortuitious unfortunate event if it reveals a flaw in their service.

I just hope I don't have to let all of what's in The Staks go static and start a new setup.That was a fair amount of work to just let hang there without being able to get/add to it.

I happened across another one of those stinking pieces of moonfruit on the excite politics boards that I just had to respond to,,and ol'pkpost went and wrote a four poster,,to which I just had to reply.So,,I did,,and it was huge so it wound up in The Staks.

It's primarily about the similarities,,or lack  of them according to pk,between the current Iraq/Terror conflict and WW2.

A talking budgie,a biased report and 1,237 pg views.

  I don't remember when I first ran across Victors website but it was sometime during the past four years.
 Victor is supposes to be a budgie (budgrigriar) that can talk contextually.That means he responds in a way that indicates he understands what he is saying.
  Now,,I have listened to a lot of what is availabe from his site and a few others that can be reached through that site and I have to admit that if,,I said IF it isn't a hoax or gimmick being pulled,,it would be kind of creepy.
  Is it a gimmick?I honestly don't know.I and my wife own a budgie and he seems to respond in a 'contextual fashion' regarding environmental events and on occasion he seems to chirp words or
quasi legible phrases but nothing like what Victor and crew is reputed to spit out.
  But I will say,,it's cute and amusing,,even though if ours did it,,I don't know how I would react.
  Especially the 'propehysing' part.That's down right creepy.But the bit about the anticipating the phone ringing sorta makes a weird sort of sense.

   A few days past I ran into a CNN report on Bellsouths news pages that sort of freaked me out.
  Why?Basically because I am surprised not only that CNN would release it as a CNN report but the fact that it was anonymous.
  I mean,,is it just me,,or has journalism lost something somewhere along the way?

Okay,,maybe not many have figured out the conundrum of "How is a woman like a chicken?" so I am going to up the answer along with a brief explanation,,just to make sure it's clear.

To begin,,the short answer is,,they both 'lay' eggs. 

To explain,expand or if you wish,,to elucidate,,,they both produce an egg that seperates from,as in out of,,the ovary,,right?It exits the ovary and falls into the mucous lining of the womb,,correct?

IF it is fertilized,,that happens after it exits the ovary.Right?

Once it is fertilized,,which happens while it is 'laying' in the lining of the womb it then stimulates the mucous lining to develope into a 'placenta' via those amazing 'placental stem cells' you rarely hear about on the news,which forms an 'umbilical chord' through which nutrients and vital substances 'leech' through to the foetus.

For the chicken,,it developes a hard calcium,,yet porous shell which is then deposited outside the body.The foetal chick continues to form obtaning nutrients stored from the original mucous lining of the hens womb in a 'sac' inside the hard shell attached to the chick via an 'umbilical chord'.Important,vital gases 'leech' throught the hard yet porous calcium shell.

But for the woman,,it remains 'seperate' yet 'inside' her,contained with in the amniotic fluid filled sac of the placenta which keeps the mothers system sperated from the foetuses while allowing 'gases' and 'nutrients' to leech through and be collected and fed to the foetus through the umbilical chord.

Somebody has touched on the idea I presented with the topic of how is a woman like a chicken.

Check out the news article I found on Bellsouth.

Unfortunately,,what they are talking about currently leaves men out of the benefits,,but they are on the right track.

And,, I must point out that 'stimulation' can equate to the word 'quicken' used to refer to the beginning of life.Partheogenesis quickening is still conception. (Immaculate,at that?)

This could even lead to the idea that males aren't needed in a modern hi-tech society for reproduction,,and that's a very bad route to go down.Men are allready being relegated to irrelevancy,,this could make it even worse.

The advance suggests that someday, a woman who wants a transplant to treat a condition like diabetes or a spinal cord injury could provide eggs to a lab, which in turn could create tissue that her body wouldn't reject.

Ethicists disagreed on whether the strategy would avoid the long-standing ethical objections to creating embryonic stem cells by other means.

Such cells can develop into virtually any tissue of the body, and scientists hope to harness them for producing specialized tissues like nerve cells or pancreas cells to treat a range of illnesses. But the process of harvesting the stem cells destroys embryos, which many people oppose.

To create tissues that genetically match a patient, some scientists are trying to develop a process called therapeutic cloning, in which DNA from the patient is inserted into an unfertilized egg, an embryo is produced and stem cells are harvested. But nobody has made that work in humans.

The new work tries another tack: stimulating a woman's unfertilized egg to begin embryonic development. Scientists believe this development can't continue long enough to produce a baby, but as the new work shows, it can produce stem cells that are genetically matched to the egg donor.

Such an approach could not provide matched cells for men, of course.~

A moose,,,to be more specific,,moose6,the poster formely known as 'infundibulum' sort of took offense at me adding a nic to his long list and gave me a scolding in the 'nazification of the american left' thread in the excite politics forum.Since our exchange touches on a few 'hot button topics' I put it and the backposts for it in The Staks.

  I suppose it's time for me to weigh in on abortion here on my blog.In one of my first posts I sort of promised I would probally post stuff a lot of people may not like regarding my opinions on current, 'hot button' topics.

  So,since I recently had what passes in the Excite Message Boards Politics Forum as a discussion,,or 'debate' regarding,,,well,,started out as a bit about God ordering people to murder in the Book of Judges and morphed into being about abortion.I decided I would place it in The Staks

Now,,believe it or not,,the answer to all the hullaboo of when does life begin and is the baby part of the mothers body lies in the answer to the question,,,

'How is a woman like a chicken?'

Read it,,think,,be honest,,apply logic,,,be honest,,,and decide whether or not you want to be the one that cracks the egg before it's hatched.
