While surfing the message forums one day,,,
Topic: Veterans

While surfing the Excite Politics Forum I got a call that I figured was another one for the folks who used to have this phone number. We've been getting such for 5 months and I answered the phone with a lot of 'irked-ness' in my voice.(That's the word I tried to use,DJ.)

Well,,it wasn't the usual. After the fellow found out I wasn't the other guy,,he told me he was doing annual calls for the Navy Vets.I gotta give him credit,,he just let my tone roll right off him and went on with it.

Unfortunately,,I am in no position to committ to sending money at this time. When I told him about all I could do was add a link here he said that was okay.(Oh,,and DJ,,I hope that 'negative' comment wasn't taken wrong, and if it was,,I apologise.)

So,,as little as it may be,,here it is,,and I added one to the side panel:

Navy Vets

And I would like to say,,Thank You folks for doing what you've done. And I pray to my God,,The Creator of Souls and All That Is to bless you with All His Good in return for whatever you may have lost, given up,gone through or suffered in the service of our country.

To those that can,,send 'em something. For those that can't,at least go find one,,shake their hand and tell 'em "Thank You!".

And,,send some active ones a beer:

Six Packs for Soldiers : a multi-partisian site

When I run across one of those Harbin Brews,,I'm gonna take a pic and send a toast. That will work for the 'company' I was talking about.(Hey,,that's the theme I can use when I make a 'collectable' from the empties.)

Wee!Gee! Another tale of ouijie weirdness.
Topic: Wee!Gee!

Okay,,I know it must be obvious by now.I have been bitten by a writing bug.Well,,maybe just nibbled on a bit by one.

I have started a tale based,,in part,,on a set of actual events that occured in my life.Take that as you may,,the intro will explain it more but it is about a ouijie board.

If you happen to read it,,or what I currently have written and posted so far,,I would not mind knowing what you may think of it.,the 'comments feature is enabled. You may like it,,you may not,,but here it is:

A new piece of Moonfruit and FIFOII?prt2 of 2
Topic: Multiple Topic

BMarwat hasn't been back in the Ecxite boards lately but he seems to have a kindred soul of sorts running around still.Er,,well,,he did,it seems.

I simply placed it in The Staks when I noticed the thread disappear.

Here's a piece from it:

~Iraqis have plenty to hate Americans for and the reasons are growing every day. Everytime a baby, or a mother, or a child is blown to smithereens by a grinning, blood-thirsty American pilot who jokes with his wingman about how fun it is to erase ragheads, I'm sure there are dozens of Iraqis who shake their fists at the sky, curse America and vow to avenge the blood of these innocents before they die.~

If the psygon kid was being honest he would say:
'Iraqis have plenty to hate Muslims for and the reasons are growing every day. Everytime a baby, or a mother, or a child is blown to smithereens by a deranged psychopath under direction of another derangd psychpath who enjoys killing innocent folks to force politics in their favor,I'm sure there are dozens of Iraqis who shake their fists at the Mo-ists, and curse Islam and Mohammed and vow to avenge the blood of these innocents before they die.'
IF he was being intellectually and ethically honest that is.Instead he is presenting a psycho-gandic tirade befitting of the most fanatic of the murderous psychopaths most ardent supporters.

Read it: ( A Point by Point to PKs post )

I have also added part 2 of part 2 of 'Fair Is Fair,Or Is It?' the quasi biographical essay style writings of yours truly regarding the immigrant issue in a purely 'recalled account' fashion.

Here's the whole set that is up right now:

( intro )  ( part one )  ( part one of part two )  ( part two of part two )

Fair is Fair,or Is It?A Quasi Biographical Set of Accounts
Topic: Fair is Fair,or Is It?

This is a different sort of thing that than I which I am putting in The Stacks.I simply figured the few that may clik through from such as Excite may wish to check it out,,or not.

It is placed on my Tripod Site itself,,built using the Site Builder.

Here is a link to the Intro page : Fair Is Fair,Or Is It?

Here's a brief excerpt from part one:

~  During this job,,I became acquainted with a slew of migrant Mexicans and other South American nationals that also worked for this company. My employer tried to get them to let me teach them how to run the machine I had been trained on.The common reaction was,,fear of the machine. After some did begin working with me,,regardless of my patience or encouragement in them learning to communicate well enough to absorb the material,,they invariably begged off using the 'no spekka dinglish good' mantra. The occasional black man that was thrown over to the saw monster either straight up said they were too scared of it or showed themselves to be unable to handle the process.Whether by design or actually incapable I don't know.I do know that there wound up being no one willing to 'feed the beast' but me after the guy they had break me in on it before he retired at like 70.

He said he was tickled that I was a quick study since that meant he could
go ahead a leave sooner than they anticipated.Yeah,,according to him,,I became competent in record time. And according to their architecht,,in private,,if I hadn't of helped him out with his designs on a couple of occasions by pointing out flaws he missed he might not have kept his first 'fresh out of colledge' job very long.~

Must Prepare to Fight:A Response
Topic: Opposing Terror

_From an Excite Board thread

Dimitri,
The situation as it stands is by far the most severe conflict the 'modern civilised world' has ever experienced. This is due largely in part to the nature of the threat. It is essentially a long term project that has been in action for several hundred years and illustrates how badly a religion can be misused by folks who hold position for such long periods of time.
It is an ingrained ideology that has not been a secret in any fashion at any time during all the ages it has existed. It is part of their social and cultural make up.It is for all intents a purposes,,a religious matter.Even if the 'original religion' is the hi-jaked' vehicle,,it still operates as a religion in the minds of those subjected to its machinations.

Yes,,this also goes for the elements of the political arena that are involved as well.Remember:Term limits limit self serving terms.
Yet irregardless of this,,the basics of adversarial conflict still apply.Take their moves away.Negate their power.Remove their base.

What would that entail in this case?
What is it that they most often use as their most beloved move?
Fear.Right?Fear of what?Them hurting innocent folks if they don't get their desires.Correct? So it's the 'fear of the death of the hostage' that they use most often.
Remove that from their arsenal.

I know this sounds really cold to some,,but bear with me for a minute,,I will talk from my own viewpoint on this matter.
IF,,someone were to hold me 'hostage' to get something from someone else,,I myself would rather be killed than have them get their way.
Hey,,shoot the guy holding me by shooting through me,,get it?Or shoot me,,I'll fall down,,you shoot them.I would rather risk dying that way than be used by a psychotic to get their way.

I know that many wouldn't agree since the 'desire to live' is so strong in people but I know that if you give in to a 'bully' the 'bullying' never ends.Once you let them think that that tactic was effective they will use it again and again. That's their power base,,your care for others.
They will kill you with your care for innocents.Way too often the good folks in the world forget that if the psycho sets the situation up,,and someone gets hurt or dies,,it is squarely on the psychos head as being the party responsible for any and all unfortunate events that follow.
That's their moves.

2 Things Name Harbin
Topic: Things Named Harbin

I often run a search on my name,,just out of curiousity and I have to admit I have been a little surprised by the following two bits of info.
The first one I came across was some info I found on http://www.answers.com/harbin&r=67 that had a link reference to 'Unit 731' ( http://www.answers.com/topic/unit-731 ) which was a
Japanese ran mad scientist lab project located just outside of Harbin starting in 1932.The first facility was located about 100 km from Harbin until '35 when it was moved to Pingfang, approximately 24 kilometers south of Harbin.
The studies conducted were some of the most horrific and inhuman,,yeah,,I said in-human,not inhumane,,things I have ever heard of a human doing to another human.
Here is a definitive paragraph from that page:

Another one about Marwats Apparent Intent
Topic: Politics/Propaganda

Allright, one more then I won't focus on him here for a while,,I promise.

There are a few other topics I could write about.

Now this one is a set of responses and even includes a couple of posts from different posters. One is for BM,,the other disputes a post by BM.

Here is the first paragraph:

++Employment and deployment of US troops around the world is US business but what's my
concern is that young guys and gals are reported to being recruited by Pentagon like
35000 extra troops for Iraq been notified by Pentagon.++

Three points on this paragraph.First,,it being US business.Do you mean it's business as in commerce,,or as in it's our business,,not someone else?
If it's being reffered to as 'commercial business' then why is it so non cost effective that a common tactic against it is too state just how expensive the 'psychopathic murderers the US is protecting innocent folks from ' make it.
If you mean it's US busines as in not someone elses,,then why did the UN and many other nations agree with taking Saddam out?
(And we all know the Psycho Murderers weren't in Iraq while Saddam was in power was because he was MORE ruthless and psychopathic than they are and would have visciously destroyed them any time they stuck their head out of a hole.
He probally would have played human whak-a-mole with them if he got a hold of any.Hey,,maybe he did.

You can read more of this response set by clicking this line.

Or go to the Staks Index and see others.

There will be other topics there eventually.

Regarding Barkatullah Marwat
Topic: Politics/Propaganda

There is a fellow who has posted in the Excite Politics Forum on a few occasions. It appears he is the Cheif Editor of an online editorial/news publication called The Marwat Post.He claims to be an Ex-Partiat of Iraq,,I think,,but he now resides in Kuwait.I haven't seen any articles posted at his web site but he has began posting in the Excite forums with,,well,,to be blunt like DANG Americans often are,,I think he is posting 'Tokyo Rose-esque' style articles that I have an over whelming compulsion to offer counter point on.

I did post one response that I called a Critique in the forum. It was a point by point response and wound up being not quite 20,000 words long. That proved to be a chore when it came to posting it in that forum since the posts are limited to 4000 words each.I wound up breaking it into 6 uneven posts and posted it in two parts since the article Marwat wrote was in two parts. That was called 'Jews vs Christians'.

Anyway,,when he posted another one called, 'What the Pentagon said about Soldiers' I wrote a retort that was over 20,000 words.I went to start posting them at about 5:30 a and got one posted then had a non successful series of attempts to get the next one to post.I gave up around the 6th or 7th try and figured I would come over here and post it as a blog entry.

Well,,it turns out that blog 'editor' wouldn't accept that much either.  Not wanting to piece it up as a series of seperate entries here,,I made an area to place large posts such as that.

So,,,with this entry and the below introductory snippet to A Retort to Barkatullah Marwats Article:What the Pentagon said about Soldiers by A DANG - DInGIE American,,you are witness to the birth of The Staks:

~ Barkatullah started with:

++The Pentagon has published a disturbing report on the attitudes of US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The report indicated that fewer than half the soldiers and only 38 percent of Marines believe noncombatants should be treated with respect. Some 40 percent also think that in order to extract information, torture is legitimate, particularly if used to save the lives of comrades.++

He gives no reference link which could be as simple as this:

http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/05/04/iraq.main/index.html?reref=rss_topstories

Which would reveal info regarding the survey itself, like this:

~The survey of more than 1,300 soldiers and nearly 450 Marines was conducted last year.~

Which give us NUMBERS regarding the polling pool. Now,,I know I have a slightly different take on polls as regards 'true validity' UNLESS one actually polls the entire population that the 'poll' claims to represent. So my retort to this is the same as any other set of assumptions that poll trusters tend to accept blindly.

Such as,,Exactly how can 1,300+450=1,750 individuals opinions be used to accurately determine the 'opinions and attitudes' of 135,000 troops?(as according to this site,,I ain't impartial,,I needed a number,,leftys ought to enjoy the article and the site):

Remembering Gordon Solie by Roy Harbin
Topic: Gordon Solie/Wrestling

This is a contribution I wrote for Eric Solies site:  http://www.gordonsolie.com/

I have re-edited it for form and a few spelling corrections but it's the same as what's posted in his 'contributions' page.

If you're a fan,,go check it out and leave a guestbook entry to let Eric (his son) know.

Admittedly,Gordon Solie belongs in the world of what's commonly considered fake professional wrestling.Yet,,he and it,was a real part of my world growing up in Vero Beach,Florida.

I don't know about other people in other places but the part such things as pro wrestling on broadcast tv had to play in our lives back then had influences on me that helped shape me into the person I am.

I was born in 64 so I am sure I was hearing wrestling matches in the womb. My father was responsible for that I suppose.Being born in '24 he was a wrestling fan from way,way back,,he used to tell me stories of going to those old style 'prize or purse matches' that would take place in warehouses and stables or other places suitably secluded and large enough for a crowd and a ring for a couple of battling men.He even had been to many of the well knnown venues that hosted other sports events such as Madison Square Gardens and others through his life.

So as wrestling eventually gained some greater form of popularity,, even if not much respectability,as a crowd drawing sport event,he was pleased so can you imagine how him and all those old fans felt when they started getting to watch it on a regular basis on broadcast t.v.?Well,he was one of those folks,,and then out of West Palm on Channel 5 comes Championship Wrestling from Florida.Yes,the studios were in Tampa,,but we got the signal from the station south of us.

My earliest clear memories are of the t.v. screen,,looming large in my sight. It was black and white of course but we soon got a color set so my general recollections are of these fellows in short tight weird looking 'trunks' with high laces boots grappling on the screen narrated by a smooth talking eloquent commentator who seemed to have an uncanny ability to not only identify a move one of the wrestlers was using on his opponent but also to state the name of it along with a modifying word or phrase so quick that it almost seemed scripted.

No matter if the action was a singles competition,a tag team or even the old time lumberjack and battleroyal matches he called the shots on the money. He could keep track of what was going on,and talk about it,better than I could track the action on the screen. He amazed me.Even if ones eyes weren't on the screen you could count on knowing what the action was thanks to his radio style narrative. One could easily identify his professional roots.

But he left an impression on me in more ways than simply through his mic skills.Along with the well executed descriptions of the physical events occuring in the ring his obviously large vocabulary enabled the descriptions to include words and phrases that carried 'emotional intent' and 'moral declarations' that not only enhanced the dramatic elements but also made it quite clear as to who was heel.

This helped shape my impressions of bullies and bad guys,,believe it or not.The wrestling world was way different back then. The bad guys were bad,, and the good guys were good.

As far a I am concerned the way things are presented in todays V-Mac dominated wresting world are poorly defined and lacking in the solidity that those by gone grapplers had thanks in large part to Gordons Solies influence on the sport genre. The fare that is accepted as professional wrestling today has about as much solidity and character integrity as tapioca pudding. No,,NOT the physical skills,,the production skills in the writing of plots, swerves, gimmmicks, character development and portrayal. The wrestlers themselves are an amazing group of athletes and I stand in awe of them constantly.

But even considering it is aimed at the 9 to 14 year old male market,,the backstage management seems exceptionally juvenile and I regret to be the one to point it out,,often amateurish. But yes,,I still watch what I get on my broadcast t.v.,,every Friday night,,8 to 10.And I thank ol'Vinnie Mac,his dad and granddad for their part in the history of it and for keeping it going.

The thing is,,back in the day,,Gordon and others like him generally had NO idea what was part of the show and what wasn't so their reactions to the action had a much more realistic flavor than todays common fare. The way Gordon would react with feeling that was definitely unfeigned carried an impact that you don't feel in todays shows.

His commentary included statements such as villainous, dastardly, horrific and others that I often doubt the guys I see every Friday night could work in to a script with a pencil let alone on the fly like Gordon. But they were pivotal to the tapestry he wove with his words. The way he had of working the television show with the verbal skills of a play by play radio sports announcer just seemed to bring the show alive in a way that you didn't get with other shows, not even other sports shows with play by play comments.

Now to me,,that's just an illustration of his skills being far superior to the 'radio pros' of that time and especially so when compared to those working wrestling and radio now.

But don't get me wrong,,I have respect for the current commentaters,, such as I see on Friday Night Smackdown and I thank them for their parts and contributions to the industry. You guys know who you are.

Yet they don't carry the impact nor make the impressions that Gordon was able to.There are obviously many differences in style and in the personas that make a giant difference. For one thing,Gordons wasn't staged.Well,to be honest,I did miss his later appearences with V.Mac's productions so maybe he had a different take on things then.I do hope he didn't seem too different to his old fans who caught those shows.

The way he came off when he liked a wrestler,or didn't,was allways genuine seeming and I rarely doubted his opinions of the characters or events he talked about. The fact that his opinions allmost allways coincided with mine and my fathers naturally affected this sentiment greatly. I can't credit Gordon Solie directly with fostering in me what I like to call a 'bully fighting mentality' but I can say that his comments and stated opinions did influence my young mind regarding how to identify a bully like act.As to a direct fostering influence,,I can identify my older brothers and sisters as a major one.But that's a different story alltogether,,well, maybe not entirely. The way Gordon called the action became the 'typical way' to call action for us kids. His was the pattern and cadence we would emulate,,or try poorly to that is.While we would be playfighting or even releasing the common frustrations and or aggressive tendencies for real,,which we we thought nothing of back then,we would be doing our own verbal play by play calls while imitating him.Yep,,not one of the famous sports anouncers who you might catch on the majors sports events,,Gordon Solie the guy on Championship Wrestling from Florida.

Every Saturday after the morning cartoon line up that was the call for me and my father to watch wrestling. After him and my mom divorced and her and my siblings moved out this became a 'thing' for us.Right around noon it seems,we would put one of those frozen solid store bought pizzas in the oven.Grab some Ruffles or Wise potato chips,Freetos and soda,,Mr.Pibb, for me and Busch beer for dad and settle in for the show.

I can't really recall the variations in the line up that we watched but sometimes there were more than one wrestling show and that allways made for a better Saturday. But mostly I remember that they would roll old chop-saki's,spaghetti westerns or monster movies,,mainly the japanese genre and old b flick black and whites after the wrestling was over. And that was the rest of my Saturday viewing regime.Any number of other things began after that.

To this day,,when I think of or look at a picture of Gordon Solie I can't help but recall my own father. It's not so much that they look a bit like each other.Yes,both had the receeding hair line, wore glasses and had a common look forged in a common era.It was more of an attitude I think,,or maybe just a way in which things were a bit plainer for them to state in terms of good and bad.I suppose it could be called part of that generations flavor though. And one that I am glad I got a taste of before it got drowned out by what is sprinkled around so much today.

So I have to tip my hat to Gordon Solie and thank him very greatfully for the part he played in the history of professional wrestling as well as the very treasured part he played in my childhood and continues to play in my memories.I personally wish that some of todays 'commentaters' in the industry would apply some of what he used to their work. But that's up to Vinnie Mac,I suppose.

Regarding How to Seperate Church from State

Regarding How to Seperate Church from State
by Roy Harbin

There has been a lot of contention of late, actually, about ohh,,50 years or so,,concerning the thing known as 'seperation of church and state'.
So much so I felt that since many folks are getting their opinions out there that I may as well put mine out there as well.
The common reason adherents of this 'political stance' state gives them cause to alledge there exists such a thing is that there is a 'non establishment of a state religion' clause in the US national documents and that one of the many signees of the documents wrote a letter to somone else in private correspondence to an associate. These same adherents evidently fail to see the clear reference to 'a god' at the very least in these same documents, along with the fact that non establishment does not equal abolishment and that one signee does not a majority make.
I have titled this little missive,, 'How to Seperate Church From State' because that is where the topic leads to.Not simply if there  should be a seperation or not,,but how to do it if one really desired a true seperation. After all if one doesn't consider what the decision entails then one can't accurately gauge the proper course to take.
So let's get going,,IF you wished to seperate church from state you must:
First,,identify source and identifiable elements of 'church' in state. Allright,,church in state would be what?Wouldn't it be the acceptance of the idea that there is a higher than 'state' authority of some sort? And that exists,,it's known as 'God',a god, gods or some such equivalent word that amounts to a 'final arbiter of truth',correct? And this is commonly an element involved with a 'group' activity' where like minded folk gather together, correct?
Now,this situation tends to involve deep personal, social, cultural, emotional and often familial, racial or even  national senses of idenity and individual self image that make for some deep seated mindsets that could be said to be a 'core' element of a persons 'self/psyche', correct? Yeah, correct.I believe we can all agree that is the source of 'church'.
Second,,that concept,,or ideology if you will, exists,,or doesn't,,with in the minds,,consciousness of each individual that consitutes the members of the 'state',correct? And it tends to be expressed through the influence this belief has on the decisions of the mind it exist within, correct? That influence,,from either acceptance or rejection of 'god stuff' could be called 'church',correct?Okay,,I think that would probally be acceptable to most people.
So,,the above elements come in to interaction with 'state' when the individual has some position or other in the 'decision making process' that governs the 'state' as a whole, correct? That sounds reasonable and I think most would agree with it easily.
Now,let's take a moment to examine the involved dynamics of this situation.
You have a state made up of many individuals.Church of some sort or other,or a lack of it,exists in every member. Some,if not all, have a position within the governments,or 'states' decision making process in which 'church' affects those decisions, correct?Sounds reasonable to me.
Then,,you wish to seperate 'church' from 'state' ?
Okay,,for now,,let's just ignore the begging question here of ,'why?' and deal with what would have to occur to enable such a seperation.
There would be more than one area in which changes would need to occur in order to allow the seperation.First I suppose one would need to take out the 'connection' between the authority of anything except 'state'.Since, church minded individuals and groups maintain an authority above state exists that ideology would need to be negated somehow. To negate such one would not focus primarily on the ones that already have a fully formed set of church beliefs but rather focus on the 'young ones' who have yet to be fully acclimatized to the 'church' oriented ideology of the 'parents or group'.This could most effectively be accomplished through 'state funded' education that would openly ridicule, trivialize and demean the 'church ideolgy'Using the indoctrinal aspects of an 'educational curriculum' biased against the 'church' ideaology, the validity of the 'church ideaology' could be destroyed in the perceptions of the 'students'.
This sets the stage for 'state' to step in.By destroying the 'core beliefs' through 'indoctrinal techniques' and manipulation of  how 'alledged facts are presented' or 'alledging facts are non existant' and therefore researching them would be futile,,while replacing the 'church ideaologies authority figure' with 'state' enables the 'young minds' to be weaned away from 'church' while becoming focused on 'state' as 'final arbiter of truth' rather than the previous common figure of 'familial, social, religious, cultural' authority figure and final arbiter of truth,,God,represented by 'church'.
Once this is reinforced by negative or positive reinforcements through incentives/rewards/deterrents the students become 'incapable' of seeing the importance of making state related decisions based on 'individual' cultural, social, familial and the other types of 'church' IF 'state' is the kind of state where 'individual social, cultural, familial, racial and or national' concerns ARE supposed to be represented.
Of course,,once the 'student' is brought to this level of 'unknowing' it is a relatively easy thing to motivate him to participate in the 'state' decision making process by appealing to the base desires left to their own discretion.
You know,,like wages, transportation, prestige, health care, housing,,luxuries and other common delicasies.
Yet the short take on it shows the true intent ,,,
“To seperate church from state you must first seperate the men of the state from their social, cultural, personal and or familial concept of 'church;God,final arbiter of truth' and replace that conceptual belief with 'state' as 'final arbiter of truth'.
       How do you do it?
Through educational indoctrination of successive generations of young minds,,and,,patient persistence.
Maybe next time,,or later on,,I'll do one on "Why would someone wish to seperate church from state?' or maybe 'How to destroy a religion.'
